Nationwide Candle Recycling Campaign

Viet Nam Candles

Every year, millions of scented candles are sold across Vietnam—many of them packaged in single-use glass containers. Once burned, leftover wax and glass holders often end up in landfills or standard recycling bins, generating unnecessary waste. In response, Hoang Ngoc Tri Candles is launching a nationwide candle swap campaign to promote more sustainable ways to enjoy ambiance at home.

As part of this campaign, Candle Return Stations will be set up in select partner locations across the country, allowing customers to return used wax and empty glass candle holders in exchange for discounts on the Hoang Ngoc Tri CleanLight Starter Kit—our eco-friendly refillable candle system designed to minimize both wax and glass waste.

A Smarter Way to Reduce Candle Waste

Running for three weeks, the campaign encourages consumers to drop off leftover candle wax—including remnants from pillar and taper candles—and used glass holders. In return, customers receive a discount voucher toward the CleanLight Starter Kit. This innovative refillable holder is designed to ensure each wax refill burns completely, allowing for repeated use without waste.

With every eight refills, a single customer can save over 1 kilogram of glass waste. If widely adopted, the initiative could collectively save hundreds of thousands of kilograms of glass annually.

Empowering Conscious Consumer Choices

“At Hoang Ngoc Tri Candles, we embrace innovation and collaboration to spark meaningful change,” shared the company’s CEO.

“Our sustainable product development strategy aims to reduce waste throughout the lifecycle—from wax to packaging—and this campaign aligns perfectly with our mission to make sustainable living accessible and beautiful.”

Through this initiative, Hoang Ngoc Tri Candles partners with local waste processors to transform returned glass holders into raw materials, and collaborates with eco-creators like The Upcycle Vietnam to turn reclaimed wax into new candle products.

New CleanLight Launch – Plant-Based, Palm-Free Wax

In line with the campaign, Hoang Ngoc Tri Candles is expanding its CleanLight collection with two new plant-based options:
– CleanLight Unscented
– CleanLight Bergamot & Neroli

Like the rest of the CleanLight range, these refills are made with a natural vegan wax blend, featuring rapeseed and sunflower oils, and are completely palm oil–free. The existing fragrance lineup includes Cypress & Amber, Grapefruit & Ginger, Gardenia & Fig, and Cedarwood & Vetiver.

Let’s Light the Future – Sustainably

With every refill, every reused holder, and every conscious purchase, we move one step closer to a more sustainable candle culture.
